Last weekend was a longgg weekend for us Malaysians (yayyy!) so my family and I decided to go for a half day trip (mostly just to eat) at Muar! Honestly, when my dad suggested to go to Muar, I was like ehhhhh cause it's a really
shmall town and I've no idea what to do there. Since both of my parents had went there a couple of times before, we thought that we dont have to do any research about the cute little town of Muar. Muar is a very small town that you can cover less than a day - so we went with the flow and let me tell you, it was the best decision ever!! We didn't felt stressed nor panicked at all. We felt very calming a relaxing. Okay, before i continue to go on and on with no direction, lemme tell you what we did!
1. RAWR! - DINO PARK
We reached Muar at around 9am. We kinda took the wrong turning to the town area so we ended up going to the Dinosaur Park! We were the first family to arrive there. Honestly, it took only about 10 minutes to see everything there but its okayyy - 'cause its FREE ADMISSION! Kids will love this place because it's filled with cute giant dinosaurs!! There are many merchandise and also sourvenirs to be taken home from there such as "MEE SIPUT" (ok this is a food but its okay). It's sO DELICIOUS!! Everyone has to try it. It is more of like a snack than a proper meal and it's also very affordable! Wohoo!

2. WALK WALK & WALK
Next! We went for breakfast at
434 Cafe because we were all SO HUNGRY we could eat horses :P If you ever go there, PLEASE TRY THE NASI LEMAK! It's so good! - Especially the one with otak-otak in it 'cause the otak-otak is SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS!! (sorry no pictures because we were all too hungry!) Besides that, coffee adicts will love this place because the coffee is really really really good! After that, we went to walk around the town - shopping & taking decent instagram-worthy pictures. I would 100% recommend you to walk around the town rather than driving cause it makes the experience so much better ;) [but please remember to wear comfy shoes or else your feet will be swollen like mine *cries*] The buildings there are very unique and very olden days kinda. The streets are even colour coordinated. There's pink, blue and yellow street. Obviouslyyyy the pink street is my personal favourite because who doesn't know my favourite colour is pink? Hahaha!

3. FOOOOOOOOD!
Boom. And it's time for lunch! No doubt, Muar was really really jammed packed during lunch time. A lot of hungry people eh? Most of the food stalls are overflowing with people - especially at glutton street! We went to a few food court kinda but there were no place to sit! Luckily, my dad came up with a great idea to pack the food from the stalls by the road and eat it by the Muar River! We packed the stir fried rice cake which had like so many people lining up for it, fried kueh teow, Muar chi and of course how are you in Muar if you are not eating Muar otak-otak? AM I RIGHT?! For the drinks, we packed soya bean and cincau! The cincau was so refreshing to quench your thirst on a hot day! Personally for the food, I think the Muar chi and the otak-otak is my favourite! The pandan Muar Chi was so sweet and it melts in your mouth like yummmmmmm! My mouth is already watering thinking about it. Plus, the lady who was selling the muar chi was super friendly which makes the muar chi even more delicious because it was prepared whole-heartedly! However, the stir fried rice cake which had the longest line was only eh so so. Do I even have to say anything about the otak-otak? It's obviously so YUMMYYYYY - the fragrance, the spiciness, the flavour, the texture AHHHH SO GOOD!
4. GUSH GUSH
After buying food, we went to Muar Waterfront to eat! The sound of the waves and the fresh air makes us all forget about our swollen leg from walking too much. Plus, it's so calming and relaxing. You can even hear birds chipping by the river. Not forgetting about the view tho! It looks so so nice and the place is very clean which makes me enjoy it more. It's a great place to take pictures too! Then, we went Muar river cruise. It's very relaxing. It makes you forget about your hectic life for 45 minutes. After the river cruise, we went back home. And that's the end of our half-day trip. It's very short but very relaxing. In the nutshell, Muar is awesome! Will definately going back there.

I've been in Malaysia but only in Kuala Lumpur just for a couple of hours 'cause I need to get back to SG, I wasn't able to explore. This Muar and the river cruise seems interesting.

Ahh Kuala Lumpur is a nice city too but it is completely different from Muar. Kuala Lumpur is more busy and there's more activities to do. However, Muar is just a small city - you can cover the whole city less than half a day! Maybe you should visit Malaysia again soon :)
